I'm a bit confused, because, I can't update the EFI ... I strictly followed the instructions. Poweron while holding the power button... then some secondes after speed flashs of the led (I mean stroboscopic) and then just a long BIIIIIP and normal boot after that ...
Tried many times, any hints ?

i have the exact same problem, i can't get update to work, i unplugged all the usb and firewire cables etc. nothing, beeeeep, reboot, grey screen, apple and circle for normal boot... frustration.
i'm running startup disk in sriped raid, can this influence the update?

Apple should've held out on the refresh to include USB 3 and even HDMI. Thunderbolt and the is currently useless.

Update away. Those of you running illegal copies of the WWDC (torrent) will be happy to know that your IP and other system/contact info is automatically logged and forwarded to Apple Legal by the Leopard Software Update. :eek:

The current dock connector already supports displayport on the iPhone 4, iPad 1/2 and iPod Touch 4th generation. It's how the VGA and HDMI adaptors work.

I would like this implemented for this reason:
If i wanted to watch something via AirPlay and my Apple TV, I would have to switch my input on my receiver, have the Apple TV load up, then stream the content from my Idevice.
If I could stream from my phone or Ipad with out having to change anything on my receiver or tv input, this would be amazing for me!

Apple ISN'T OBJECTING TO USING THE WORD PODCAST What they are doing is trying to stop this company from doing things like marketing ipodcast and things like that.. AGAIN APPLE SPECIFICALLY MENTIONED THAT PODCAST WAS TO BE EXCLUDED FROM THEIR CEASE AND DESIST REQUEST.

While it doesn't seem surprising that Jobs did all the talking, I would hope that he could also listen a bit and maybe glean some insight on what's going on in Schmidt's head.

it would be great if the "full" version is included. maybe you're forced to purchase additional "packs" via app-store if you want to enhance a "basic" server version, i.e. mail-server etc.
There's no indication on Apple's Lion preview page that they're packaging a gutted server package with additional add-ons to be sold separately.

Sometimes it will just sit there on some of my older workstations. Clearing cache or waiting on hardware or whatever the heck it does.
Most times it's installing something. I wait it out and eventually windows will shutdown.

Lemme' guess - it's going to be distributed through the app store, and everytime there is an update, you have to download an 8 GB install program for each update, ala XCode 4 :mad:
Yeah, lack of incremental updates for the Mac App Store in particular is a bit of a problem.
Personally I'd like to see all 3 options thus proposed available for Mac users: A Mac App Store initial download option, a DVD, and a USB drive. That way, people can pick whichever one they need or want.
