EVERY SINGLE ITEM on our goals benefits H4 spouses indirectly. Including the short term goals of IV.
Well what eb3_nepa and me are eluding to has no intention of superseeding the main agenda nor is it in anyway a distraction, it just the germination of an idea out of circumstantial frustration. Also if we truly belive what we are doing is right then there is no question of leaving this forum.
We all support the main agenda and also have a very positive attitude that we will see the light of a bright new day very soon. God willing we all will have our GC in 2 years or so.

It took me around 4 years. EB2 India, started as a scientist later physician and endless headaches ...... but its over now. Got my card yesterday. Its an amazing stress relief and confidence booster.
I could have tried EB1 too but wasnt sure how it would turn out hence stuck to EB2.
PD Dec 2005, EB2, RD for 485 Sept 2007. Welcome notice August 5 2008.

For those who are waiting: Keep pushing and thinking of new ways of making this work. if you are EB3 try to become EB2 and even EB1. In the end all that matters is getting the card.

paskal - i actually agree with your basic premise.....once the larger body agrees on a basic vision and strategic plan - the tactical manuevers to achieve the vision in line with strategy should be left to leaders.......
but this principle generally works in two scenarios - either when the leader (or lead group) is appointed by a higher authority (like employees following the lead of a CEO appointed by board of directors which in turn has been "elected" by shareholders) or when the leader has been directly or indirectly elected by the constituents.......
Let me give an example.......an entrepreneur starts a company with a great idea.....grows it and nurtures it with great love and passion......dedicates his whole life to the idea and the venture.......then the entrepreneur needs a larger canvas and more money to grow the vision further.......he takes the company public or gets private equity funding or raises debt........now the new owners/ stakeholders decide they need to change the management and decide to elect a person of their own choice........suddenly a rank outsider replaces the entrepreneur as CEO........the new CEO now has the legitimacy and owners' backing to dictate how the company should function.....
I welcome red dots but take a moment to absorb what I am saying and whether the principle is wrong......

In any case, why should someone be SO disturbed if some lawyer says "I will try to prove your degree equivalency for trying to get into EB2"?
Going by folks' behavior here, I am inclined to think, some simply hate such a lawyer for nothing more than personal interests

Actions - 1) Vote on survey.

3)Print/Circulate Fliers and spread FB, wiki link (see "support thread")

As you may know, we are just one more week away from hosting Advocacy day in Washington DC where about 170 members of Immigration Voice will conduct nearly 250 meetings with offices of Senators and Congressmen. Such events cost money. If we have enough contributions, we can spend as per our budget of nearly $ 50,000. If not, we will have to cut back on the event spending and reduce the magnitude and size of the event.
If you are not coming to DC next week, please do your part and contribute funds to Immigration Voice. It not only finances the event properly, it instills pride and confidence in the members who will be there in DC that there are thousands of willing supporters behind them who could not be there physically but are 100% with them in their determination and resolve.

I have an H1 transfer pending with Nebraska Service Centre....
My earlier H1 which was approved 1 year ago has been re-opened today...This is the status I see on USCIS web-site

Current Status: Case reopened or reconsidered based on USCIS determination, and the case is now pending.
We reopened this I129 PETITION FOR A NONIMMIGRANT WORKER on September 28, 2007, and are now reviewing our earlier decision. We also mailed you a notice describing the next steps in the process. Please follow any instructions on this notice. Our review should be completed within 30 days. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service.
I don't get this...I have the following questions
1> This H1 petition was approved 1 year ago...I have the I-797 Notice with me. Then why did they re-open this case after 1 year of approval ??
2> My I-131, I-485, I-765 applications has been accepted and chqs encashed. What happens to them now ?
3> What about my H1-transfer which is pending ??

My wife and I had our interviews on Jan 3rd. Consulate handed the passport to VFS on Jan 4th. DHL (i think) delivered at home on Jan 5th.

Many of us are waiting to file I485. Think about them who have filed and are stuck in namecheck for 2 years plus or waiting for visa numbers to get current- they are renewing their EAD every few months (and guess what, they are paying extra money).
Now that the atmosphere looks good for businesses (via increased H1Bs), people who either voted red or did not vote at all, are getting scared of possible democratic party actions.

US can put pressure Indian counterpart to freeze your Indian bank accounts, hence don't tranfer monies in any of your or your wife's accounts.

Leadership or Money is not issue for getting results. Why there is so much oppositon to H1b and GC increase? There is a fear in certain american people that they may lose job to the low wage H1b people. Is anyone either corportions or Pro-immigrants trying to remove the fear? Is skill bill has any protection to american workers? We want to increase to h1b or gc without botherng the impact. Now USA really need more h1bs and gcs. But are we suggesting anything when job growth stops or recession happens? Rememember so many people were laid off between 2000 to 2003 including H1b people and Americans but that time also most of 195k h1b was used. I knew lot of people

Bold decison will be H1 increase or Gc increase with complete protection to American people and adjustment when demand decreases. Otherwise even h1b or gc is increased by lobbying or politics hatred may increase that is not good for immigration.
