Like you said, some people suffered through BEC and LC's that took ages. Then along came PERM and suddenly people saw approvals in a matter of months. My PERM got approved in less than 30 days whereas my 3 year senior colleague had to wait for a total of 4 years to get his LC (his qualifications, designation all higher than mine).....so what is the point of this story...new rules lead to new games.

For my situation discussed above, I took an infopass appointmnet at Baltimore and they couldn't offer a concrete answer since the case is pending with TSC. They asked me to reply to RFE asking for extension and provide supporting documents. I'm not sure if that would be accepted and results in denial of I-485.
In 2005 for a family based I130 I recd an RFE for birth cert which was not available and somehow could not arrange for the negative certificate in time and asked them for an extension as my papers were to come from from mumbai and it would take more tiime as we had to get the documents from courts in mumbai and ahemdabad.I was sent a denial notice and had to fie a motion to reopen and pay attorney extra money to get the case reopened.So as far as I know they do not issue any time extensions and would decide the case on basis of documents submitted and if these documents are letters asking for more time then I assume they would deny the case as they did for me in 2005.

Just curious. Why do you claim ROW is receiving preferential treatment over India when all the countries get the same upper limit of the visas. Now if the Indians ask for more visas just because there are more Indians asking for green cards, wouldn't that be preferential treatment? :)
Why do think that "India" is the name of 1 human being that everyone from India should be treat like 1 person. Each person applies for his/her I-485, even each member of a family is considered separate. So why club one group of people based on a dichotomy that works best in your favor and then argue that there should be no change. A lot of people, including me have lost faith in IV. They are not going to pay. We don't know what IV is working on
I believe the core group has made efforts to let us know what they are working on. Obviously, we shouldn't expect them to give us a daily update. That would be quite stupid.

If you think that with 8000 members, and 300 contributing members, you can have the congress/senate pass pro-EB laws, you are grossly mistaken.
IV needs to figure out other ways to generate cash if it thinks that would help. One way would be advertising on the site. I think IV has built this website well and it is an asset it needs to use NOW. I believe IV can charge up to $10,000 a day for advertising on the website. That would be $300,000/month or $3.6 million a year. Even $3000/day would result in over $1 million. That should not be very difficult to do.

Obviously they have a HUGE membership compared to IV. But that just underscores the need for increasing membership.

If not, we will have to cut back on the event spending and reduce the magnitude and size of the event.
If you are not coming to DC next week, please do your part and contribute funds to Immigration Voice. It not only finances the event properly, it instills pride and confidence in the members who will be there in DC that there are thousands of willing supporters behind them who could not be there physically but are 100% with them in their determination and resolve.
